Speaker - Tim Forcey - "My Efficient Electric Home"

"Tim Forcey is an independent energy advisor with over 35 years of experience.  With the University of Melbourne, Tim has researched and written about the benefits of Australians operating their homes without the use of fossil fuels. Tim has consulted on home energy and comfort improvements in over 500 Melbourne homes. His lively and useful Facebook Group "My Efficient Electric Home" now has more than 1,300 members. Tim has been interviewed for Australian television, radio, and print and online media with some articles viewed more than 250,000 times globally.”

Mr Forcey recently completed research with the University of Melbourne Energy Institute that found that gas demand in Eastern Australia could fall by as much as half in the next decade, one reason being that electric appliances are now much more cost-efficient than their gas counterparts.
As was widely reported in The AGE and elsewhere, the paper also found that switching from gas could create huge money saving opportunities for home owners, renters, and even small businesses.  A large Victoria household could be saving up to $658 a year, simply by turning on existing reverse-cycle air conditioners for winter heating.

The humble air conditioner may well be the disruptive technology, sitting under our nose, that could heat our homes for less while protecting our local environment and communities from the dangers of unconventional gas mining. Come and hear how your home, business or institution can save money and be part of this fuel-switch revolution.

And in our second half, there will be more about our actions and plans and ways for you to join in.

Please join us from 7 pm for 'meet and greet' with food and drinks, and a 7.30 pm start.
We ask for a small donation to help cover costs.
Any issues to discuss, call Carolyn  0411 115 186
